On June 10, the 13th Shanghai Region and 1st Yangzi River Delta HEIs International Students Dragon Boat Race kicked off on Fengxian Campus of East China University of Science and Technology. SUES international student dragon boat team gathered together with teams from 31 other universities’ peers to compete in the dragon boat race. Everyone worked hard, made concerted efforts and won the second place in the group competition, finally winning the commemorative prize of the race.
The international student dragon boat team on behalf of SUES is a team that has been established for mere two months. The main body is made up of international students from School of Management Studies, with students from School of Textiles and Fashion, School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, and School of Art and Design also participating. Even though with so short time, limited training opportunities and lack of professional experience, the players recognized the value of team spirit by cooperating with the coach and training hard under the leadership of captains Mohammad All Amin and Michel Naoumi Marcy with full endeavor.
Although the SUES dragon boat team is relatively inexperienced among the competitive university teams, their considerable improvement has been noticed, and the players are looking forward to next year’s competition. We believe that this team made up of SUES international youths will properly embody the dragon boat spirit.
